A 5 year old was found wandering a mall parking lot after being left at a GameStop in Florida. The child had been lost for nearly an hour before being found. The child’s aunt claimed the mother had dropped her son off at a GameStop and told him not to leave the store until she was done her shopping.
This doesn’t just apply to GameStop. Every gaming store has had this situation occur- your store is perceived as a “hangout babysitting service” where parents can leave their kids. This is not the case. The mother has been arrested and faces charges including child neglect, possibly (and probably) losing her son.
Damn that sucks. Really though, parents leave their kids in our store all the time, and we don’t even have any interactives at our small store. There is nothing for a little kid to do at our store. On top of that they get mad at me if their kid goes missing. As much as I love kids, I have other customers needing my attention. Be smart parents!
People use the movie theatre as a babysitting service. Parents drop them off, and then the stupid kids end up acting like 3 year olds in the movie and we have to end up telling them to leave.
